My step by step branding process
I’m going to go into a bit of detail about my branding process so you guys can get a better understanding of the whole process and how it works.
For anyone looking to create a new brand or rebrand their current business, I start off by sending over a small design brief. This brief consists of questions about the project and lets you attach any typography, colours, and other ideas you like so that I get a better understanding of what exactly it is you are looking for. Once this is filled out and sent back I then take everything and compile it into a small moodboard which is essentially my inspiration for the project. Along with this, I take a few days to research the area of the business, look at competitors, and start to put an idea in my head of what I want the initial ideas to look like.
Once this is completed I can then get to work. I use the industry standard Adobe suite, primarily Adobe Illustrator. Illustrator is a great tool for creating vector shapes and designs, that ultimately turn into someone's brand for their business. I offer an initial 3 ideas on all my branding projects, this lets me come up with 3 different designs, usually one the clients has in their head, one I personally think would work, and a completely different third idea. The reason I do this is to give choice and get a better idea of what parts of each design the client might like. Many times my end design is a combination of different parts of each idea, whether it be the typography from idea 1, the colours from idea 2, or the logomark from idea 3, an end result can be achieved by working together closely on different iterations to ultimately get the design they are happy and looking for.
Once we have a design finalised I then apply it to different mediums within the package I offer. Business cards, letterhead, and email signatures all get created with the branding to create a cohesive look and feel across the board.
The final stage of the process is then exporting all the files for print and web. All designs are optimised and I provide multiple file types along with transparent backgrounds and the master Adobe Illustrator file.
My process is very fluid and I like to keep in constant communication with my client. I stick to a quick turnaround time as I prefer to work fast. Working fast doesn’t take away any quality from my work as I’ve been designing logos and branding for over 12 years and the principles I stick to allow me to create high-quality work in a speedy timeframe.
If you have any questions or would like to find out more information on pricing, drop me an email and I would be more than happy to send you a proposal and go over any details in a call.
